Policies

Fees are reviewed annually and are subject to change.

Payment for services is due on the day of your counselling session.

In order to remain compliant with Canada Revenue Agency business regulations, we must charge HST for all psychotherapy services that are rendered to you. Please see this link for more information.

If you are unable to attend a scheduled session, you must provide 48 hours notice or you will be charged for the session. Therefore, we ask our clients to please notify us as soon as possible if you cannot make your session.

Confidentiality is the cornerstone of a successful client-therapist relationship. Exceptions to confidentiality apply in some specific circumstances, and at the first appointment before we begin, we will review confidentiality and these exceptions together.

As plans and coverage vary amongst insurance companies, please check with your provider to see if a referral from your physician is required and how much coverage you have. You will be required to pay our fee at the end of each session, after which a receipt will be generated and sent to you so that you can submit it to their Extended Health Care provider for reimbursement. If your insurance does not cover psychological services, you can claim part of your medical expenses on your next tax return.

Emails and texts from clients become part of the client record.

We do not guarantee a response but will read all messages and consider the content in our therapy.

Our services DO NOT include crisis or emergency counselling.

If you feel that you are in crisis or your condition worsens to a point that you need immediate assistance, please go to the nearest Emergency Room, or call 911. Other support and distress line numbers are:
